The state university of Nakhchivan is located in the autonomous republic of Nakhchivan which is a part of the republic of Azerbaijan. The university was established in 1967 as a part of the Azerbaijan pedagogical institute, but later, it was renamed and re-organized as the Nakhchivan state university.
