Baku State University is located in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which is the largest city and also the largest port of the country. The university was founded in 1919 in Baku. Baku State University of the Republic of Azerbaijan started its first year of education with two faculties (Faculty of Philosophy and Faculty of Medicine) with 1094 students.
