As one of the spin offs of the Baku Polytechnique university, the Azerbaijan state university of Architecture and construction dates back to 1920s, however, it was separated from Baku Polytechnique university in 1975 and got the status of a university just in 1992. Therefore, technically speaking, this university is one of the oldest and the most experienced universities of the country.

The university has one main campus and 4 educational buildings. There is a sports complex inside the campus too. The campus and all the facilities of the university are located at the southwestern part of the city of Baku in the Yasamal neighborhood.

The university provides dormitories for only a small portion of its students. The dormitory building is located just outside the main campus and can fit 256 people every semester.

Faculty of architecture

As the oldest and the first established faculty of the university, the faculty of architecture educates students with the best educational methods that the faculty has developed in its 100-year history. The faculty has close international relations with several Italian universities such as the Polytechnic university of Milan. The faculty exchanges science and participates in the research projects conducted at these universities. The faculty admits students through an entrance exam that takes place at the faculty.

Faculty of construction

Another one of the historical faculties of the university is the faculty of construction. This faculty offers high quality courses in various fields and subject areas in three languages of Azerbaijani, English and Russian. Courses are mainly project-oriented and practical and students learn how to operationalize their knowledge in actual work situations during their study time at this university.

Faculty of transport

This faculty was established in 1975 and has been educating students in 4 departments ever since. Students can study transport and logistics, mechanics, geomatics and physics and chemistry at this faculty. Language of this faculty is Azerbaijani Turkish and all the courses are taught at this language.
