Student life

The student youth organization of this university, just like all the centers of all other Azerbaijani universities, was established by the direct order of the president of Azerbaijan. This organization and the student trade union faculty are the governing bodies of the student life of the university. The organization is responsible for holding and organizing different social and cultural events every year. Events dedicated to khojali massacre and embassy meeting are some of the events annually taking place at this university.

Azerbaijani language is one of the languages with the richest literature among all the languages in the world. Students can access these resources in the university library.

Faculty of education:

This faculty is one of the oldest faculties of the university but has gone through various changes and adopted reformed approaches towards the education of teachers and language specialists of the country. The faculty educates students in 19 different subject areas in BA level and 6 different majors in MA level. Roman and German are the two main languages taught at this university, as well as Azerbaijani. There are 7 departments currently active at this university.

Faculty of philology:

As one of the most unique faculties of the university, this faculty offers programs in 6 languages to its students. Azerbaijani, English, German, French, Russian and Spanish are the languages that are taught in this faculty. There are 10 departments at the faculty, all specialized at different languages and 3 departments specialized in teaching literature in 3 languages. There is a journalism department at this faculty too, which offers unique courses to the future journalists and writers.

Faculty of translation:

No one can deny the importance of translation in the modern world, specially from the most used languages of the world such as English, German and French. This faculty offers courses in 5 different departments and in 5 languages spoken in the every corner of the world. The faculty has also developed great international relations with several universities around the world. Graduates of this faculty can usually be the official translators of different embassies or international institutions in Baku.
